Watford have agreed a deal to sign Albert Riera on a short-term contract until the end of the season.
Riera, who was a free agent after cancelling his deal with Galatasaray, signed a contract with Udinese earlier this week, but will begin his first-team duties with the Italian club in the summer.
The former Manchester City and Liverpool winger will return to England, subject to international clearance, in part due to the link between Udinese and Watford, who are both owned by the Pozzo family.
Riera joined Galatasaray in 2011, but started just four times for the Turkish club this season.
