Watford manager Gianfranco Zola has signed five players from Udinese on season-long loans.
Defensive trio Jean-Alain Fanchone, Neuton Piccoli and Lars Ekstrand will join the Championship club, subject to international clearance.
Midfielder Cristian Battocchio and forward Fernando Forestieri are also poised to make the switch to Vicarage Road.
The Hornets will have the option to purchase all five players on a permanent basis when their loan deals expire.
