Andriy Yarmolenko scored a hat-trick as Ukraine won for the third successive match in Euro 2016 qualifying by beating Luxembourg 3-0 this evening.
David Turpel almost gave the hosts an early lead when he was picked out at the back post, only to see his effort blocked on the line.
The visitors soon took charge and created the better of the chances, with Roman Zozulya heading over and Denys Oliynyk seeing an effort saved by the keeper.
Just past the half-hour mark, Viacheslav Shevchuk almost opened the scoring for Ukraine, but his powerful effort was tipped over the bar by Jonathan Joubert.
From the resulting corner, the visitors took the lead as Yarmolenko smashed the ball into the top corner following a scramble.
The hosts almost conjured up an immediate response, with Turpel flashing a shot from range just wide of the far post.
Yevhen Konoplyanka nearly grabbed a second for Ukraine minutes later, but, after dribbling into the box, he saw his low effort tipped wide by the keeper.
Ukraine were able to double their lead eight minutes into the second half as Yarmolenko found space on the edge of the box to curl an effort into the bottom corner.
The forward completed his hat-trick three minutes later with a powerful effort from range which left the keeper with no chance as it flew into the corner.
Sergiy Sydorchuk should have made it four soon after when he was teed up inside the box by Yarmolenko, but he could only lash his strike wide of the post.
Luxembourg then almost pulled a goal back through Mario Mutsch, who powered a strike narrowly wide of the top corner.
The visitors saw out the rest of the match with consummate ease to claim the three points and move level with Slovakia at the top of Group C.
