A report suggests that Andriy Shevchenko could make a return to professional football with Indonesian outfit Mitra Kukar.

Former AC Milan and Dynamo Kiev striker Andriy Shevchenko could make a return to professional football with Indonesian outfit Mitra Kukar.

The 36-year-old announced his retirement after captaining Ukraine at Euro 2012 last summer, but according to ESPN, he is considering joining the Indonesia Super League team for a sizeable wage.

Mitra Kukar manager Roni Fauzan told reporters: "Obviously we're interested in Shevchenko, but we have to continue to discuss this question, particularly the financial aspects.

"Andriy has made clear that he is not against joining Mitra Kukar, but at the moment we don't know how much he'll be able to play."

Shevchenko, once considered one of the best strikers in the world, scored 48 goals in 111 caps for his country.
