Uruguay are reportedly considering resting star striker Luis Suarez against England next week in a bid to keep him fit during the World Cup.
The Liverpool forward is racing to be fit for his nation's campaign in Brazil after undergoing knee surgery last month.
Suarez is unlikely to feature in Uruguay's opening Group D clash against Costa Rica, despite doing sprints and working on the ball during training this week.
According to the London Evening Standard, Uruguay may rest Suarez against England next Thursday if they manage to get a result against Costa Rica on Saturday due to fears that the striker could suffer the same fate as Chile's Arturo Vidal.
Vidal underwent the same operation as Suarez back in May, but after just 15 minutes into a friendly with Northern Ireland, the player's knee began to swell and he is now a doubt for Chile's campaign.
