Gary Neville has admitted that he wants to stay at Valencia beyond the summer, despite recently claiming that he does not envisage being in management for the long term.
The former Manchester United captain was handed his first managerial role at the start of December when Valencia came calling.
Since then, the former Sky Sports pundit has been asked whether he could one day take the helm at Old Trafford, but the 40-year-old has no plans to return to United as coach.
In a recent interview with Sky, Neville said that he does not want to "end up" in management, but when his comments were flagged up by reporters on Sunday night, the ex-full-back clarified: "I was talking about 15, 20 years' time. I don't want to be just a coach for six months. I hope I am here beyond six months but I know have to prove myself."
Neville was speaking after his side came from behind twice to seal a 2-2 draw against Real Madrid at the Mestalla.
