Welsh side Pontypridd Town AFC have fallen to a 3-0 defeat to Valencia in a friendly match played in Spain.
Pontypridd, who compete in the third tier of Welsh football, secured the fixture with the La Liga giants through player-manager Dominic Broad's links with the club, and his squad did themselves justice against their more illustrious opponents.
Broad and Geraint Passmore helped contain a youthful Valencia side during the opening 45 minutes, but after Adam Webb had pulled off a couple of solid stops, the home team finally took the lead three minutes before the break through Sergio Ayala.
Pontypridd, who were being cheered on by over 400 travelling supporters, made a number of alterations at half time, but they were unable to prevent Valencia doubling their lead through a neat finish from Fernando Cano.
Valencia sealed their victory through a spectacular individual goal from Pinnero Ebwelle, who took the ball past three Pontypridd players before firing the ball past the goalkeeper.
