Majeed Waris has scored a late goal to earn Valenciennes a 2-1 home win over Nice in their Ligue 1 encounter this evening.
Gregory Pujol went close for the hosts early on when he unleashed a right-footed shot, which was kept out at the bottom corner of the Nice goal.
Tongo Hamed Doumbia gave Valenciennes the lead in the 28th minute when he produced a header from the centre of the box after being found by Waris, who broke away on the counter.
The visitors equalised in the 75th minute through Neal Maupay, who was picked out with a neat pass from Eric Bautheac.
However, the hosts were not prepared to give up the three points as David Ducourtioux found Waris in space in the final two minutes, allowing the striker to lash the ball home and hand Valenciennes a 2-1 victory.
