Villarreal have sacked manager Juan Carlos Garrido.
The Spaniard has been dismissed following his side's embarrassing Copa del Rey exit at the hands of third division Mirandes. The club are also 17th in the La Liga table.
"Juan Carlos Garrido has tonight stopped being the coach of Villarreal's first team after the 2-0 cup defeat against Mirandes," read a club statement.
"The club thanks the Valencian tactician for all his efforts and dedication and wishes him luck in his future career.
"His successor has not yet been confirmed."
Garrido managed Villarreal's 'B' team for eight years before he took charge of the senior squad in February 2010.
