Vitoria de Setubal secure a 2-2 draw with Vitoria de Guimaraes, despite having a player sent off less than two minutes after kickoff.

Vitoria de Setubal have secured a 2-2 draw with Vitoria de Guimaraes in Portugal's Primeira Liga, despite playing the majority of the match with 10 men.

The home side were dealt a blow just moments after kickoff when defender Fabio Pacheco was sent off for a late foul on Henrique in the penalty area, allowing the Guimaraes striker to open the scoring from the penalty spot.

Despite being a man down, the hosts soon got back on level terms as Suk Hyun-jun charged down the left flank before crossing the ball in to Arnold, allowing the midfielder to tap in from close range.

Ricardo Oliveira pushed to restore the visiting side's advantage before half time, charging towards the Setubal goal to carve out a solo chance, but Ricardo was on hand to make the save.

Oliveira was pressing forward again after the restart as Guimaraes continued to dominate the possession, but his curling effort from the edge of the box just missed the top right corner.

Federico Venancio came close down the other end moments later as Setubal tried to make the most of a quick clearance, but the visitors soon got the ball back to continue to put the 10 men of Setubal under pressure.

Against the run of play, the hosts went ahead with just over an hour gone as Arnold sprinted into the box after the visiting side failed to clear a long ball forward, hitting it on the half-volley to add his second of the match.

Guimaraes were back on level terms just five minutes later though as Ruben Semedo, who had dropped back into defence following Pacheco's dismissal, turned the ball into his own net while trying to clear a cross from Ricardo Gomes.

Despite having played almost the entire match a man short, it was Setubal who looked the more likely to find a winner in the final stages as Suk unleashed a powerful shot from the edge of the box, which was parried clear, before Paulo Tavares struck the ball straight at the keeper.

The result keeps Guimaraes eighth in the table, while Setubal sit one place further back.
