Ashley Williams believes that the current crop of players give Wales the "perfect" chance to qualify for the Euro 2016 finals in France.
Chris Coleman's side, which includes Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey, get their campaign underway this evening in a qualifier against Andorra.
"We're aware that Welsh teams fell short in the past for whatever reason and a lot has been put on this group," Sky Sports News quotes Williams as saying.
"A lot has been said about us and we really want to be the team that lived up to that potential and finally qualified in a good style and manner. Welsh teams could qualify in the future but I feel for this group now the time is perfect."
Wales will also face Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Israel and Cyprus in Group B.
