There have been no goals between Wales and the Republic of Ireland in the first 45 minutes of their friendly match at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff.
The visitors looked sharper in the opening stages and threatened the Welsh goal three times in quick succession.
Firstly, West Bromwich Albion striker Shane Long fired over the bar from close range, before Glenn Whelan went close with a volley.
Some brave goalkeeping from Boaz Myhill - standing in for Wayne Hennessey - prevented Long from getting another shot in on goal.
The home side then began to stir at the other end of the pitch, with Hal Robson-Kanu and Craig Bellamy trying to make something happen for Chris Coleman's men.
Jonathan Williams also had a go from the edge of the area but to no avail.
