Chris Coleman upbeat about Wales future

Wales boss Chris Coleman believes that the national side have a bright future ahead of them.

Wales manager Chris Coleman has expressed his belief that the national side will have a bright future based on some of the players currently coming through.

The Dragons have not reached a major tournament since the European Championships in 1976, while their absence from World Cups stretches all the way back to 1958 and will not be ended until at least 2018 following their latest failed qualifying campaign.

However, Coleman brought three new faces into his latest squad in the forms of 20-year-old Lloyd Isgrove, 18-year-old Declan John and 16-year-old Harry Wilson, and believes that such young talent separates them from other teams at their level.

"A lot of our players may not be ready now, but they will be in a few years I believe. The lads who have come in have done brilliantly," Coleman told PA.

"People say we are not bringing any players through from the Under-21s but Declan John, Harry Wilson and Lloyd Isgrove are all coming through. I am not too sure how many countries in and around our level have got players coming through like that.

"We have good players, I don't see the doom and gloom other people see. I think we have some very good players and now we have other good players coming through."

Wales, who sit fourth in their World Cup qualifying group following last night's 1-0 win over Macedonia, will face Belgium in the final match of their campaign on Tuesday.
