Head coach Chris Coleman has confirmed that he will start discussions with the Welsh Football Association over a new contract "next week".
The 45-year-old's current deal is due to expire following the conclusion of this summer's European Championships.
However, Coleman is hopeful that his future will be decided before Wales head to France.
"Next week we'll talk. Ideally we'll know what we're doing before we go to the tournament," BBC Sport quotes the boss as saying.
Coleman is the first manager to have guided Wales to a major tournament since Jimmy Murphy in 1958.
