Jonathan Ford: 'Chris Coleman is wedded to Wales job'

Football Association of Wales chief Jonathan Ford says that he has no concerns regarding offers that Chris Coleman may receive after the country's success at Euro 2016.

Football Association of Wales chief Jonathan Ford has insisted that he does not worry about Chris Coleman leaving the national team before the end of his contract.

Coleman has been praised for guiding the Dragons to the semi-finals of Euro 2016 and he has already suggested that he will move on from the role after the end of Wales's 2018 World Cup campaign.

The former Fulham boss could still attract interest from club sides over the next 12 months but Ford has indicated that it would take a big job for Coleman to end his time with Wales before at least the end of 2017.

Ford is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "At the end of the day we do have a contract that has been signed but if somebody desperately says 'I'm not going to do the job' then you're going to have a tough time keeping them.

"There are procedures and there are policies in place with regards to that happening, but let's hope it doesn't. Chris is absolutely wedded to the Welsh, he is Welsh through and through, he'd run through brick walls for us. We're delighted with the progress we've made and I think he's delighted with the job that he's done.

"I don't worry about those things. My focus is on the job at hand - we'll cross that bridge if we have to."

Wales begin their qualifying campaign for the next World Cup against Moldova in September.
