Watford and West Bromwich Albion shared a goalless draw in their Premier League clash this afternoon.

The Hornets dominated the match and had a number of shots on goal, but they were unable to seriously trouble the keeper.

However, the Baggies almost grabbed the points late on when an unmarked Saido Berahino headed wide from close range.

Goal

Heurelho Gomes: The Brazilian did not have a save to make all afternoon, but he was involved in a potential turning point when Berahino dived over him inside the box and tried to win a penalty. (6/10)

Defence

Allan Nyom: Energetic display from the full-back, who looked to get forward at every opportunity. He constantly got in down the right and flashed a number of teasing balls into the box. (7/10)

Sebastian Prodl: Very comfortable display from the Austrian at the back. He was not given many problems by Berahino and was tidy on the ball. (7/10)

Craig Cathcart: Another commanding performance from a Watford defender. Was barely tested until Rondon came on and defended the six-yard box well. (7/10)

Ikechi Anya: The winger was not given too many problems in an unfamiliar left-back slot, but he struggled to make any real impact coming forward. (6/10)

Midfield

Etienne Capoue: Impressive showing from the Frenchman. He helped Watford to control the midfield and did not put a foot wrong all match. (8/10)

Valon Behrami: Alongside Capoue, the Swiss international was a rock in the middle. He never shied away from a challenge and worked hard throughout. (7/10)

Miguel Layun: The Mexican impressed against Everton last weekend, but he was quiet this afternoon and was replaced early in the second half by Abdi. (6/10)

Jose Jurado: Classy performance from the Spaniard. He showed great pieces of skill throughout the match and he should prove to be a hit with the Watford fans this season. (7/10)

Attack

Troy Deeney: Caused plenty of trouble for the Albion defence, but was mainly restricted to long range efforts and looked frustrated towards the end. (6/10)

Odion Ighalo: Was given a start after his goal last weekend and was a real handful for the opposition. He had plenty of efforts on goal, but was denied by a combination of good goalkeeping and poor finishing. (7/10)

Substitutes

Almen Adbi: Looked lively after his introduction and linked up well with the attack. (7/10)

Steven Berghuis: Had little time to make an impact following his late arrival. (6/10)

WEST BROM

Goal

Boaz Myhill: The Welshman was a commanding presence in goal for the Baggies and he dealt well with everything that came his way. (7/10)

Defence

Jonas Olsson: Was given some problems by Jurado down his side of the pitch, but was reliable at the back and produced a committed display. (6/10)

Gareth McAuley: Strong performance at the heart of the Albion defence and almost set up Berainho for what would have been the winning goal. (6/10)

Craig Dawson: The defender had a night to forget against Man City, but he produced an improved display at the back to help his side keep a clean sheet today. (7/10)

Chris Brunt: Did not look comfortable again playing at left back and was given a host of problems by Nyom. (6/10)

Midfield

Claudio Yacob: Struggled as his team lost the midfield battle and saw very little of the ball. (6/10)

James Morrison: Delivered one great cross into the box, but was mainly a spectator and failed to make much of an impact on the game. (5/10)

Craig Gardner: Another of the Albion midfield who had a poor game. He gave the ball away far too cheaply, before he was finally replaced just past the hour mark. (5/10)

Darren Fletcher: The captain failed to exert his usual authority and influence on the match and was overrun in the centre of the pitch for large periods. (6/10)

Attack

Saido Berahino: Was quiet for most of the game, but had a huge chance to win the points for Albion late on. He was found unmarked at the back post and just a few yards out from goal, but he somehow headed wide of the target. (5/10)

Rickie Lambert: Poor showing yet again from the former Liverpool striker. He struggled to make any impact and it was no surprise when he was finally replaced midway through the second half. (5/10)

Substitutes

Salomon Rondon: Promising debut for the Venezuelan striker, who looked lively when he came on. (6/10)

James McClean: Made very little impact when he was brought off the bench. (6/10)

Callum McManaman: Was only on the pitch for stoppage time after replacing Berahino. (6/10)
