Ipswich Town have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Scott Loach from Watford for an undisclosed fee.
The former England Under-21 shot-stopper has returned to the club where he started his career, after passing a medical and agreeing to a three-year deal.
The 24-year-old started at Ipswich's academy as a youngster before his family moved away from the area. Loach later joined the youth systems at Nottingham Forest, Chesterfield and then Lincoln.
A move to Watford finally materialised in 2006, with Loach making more than 160 appearances in six years with the Hornets, including 32 last season.
Having used four goalkeepers in the last campaign, Ipswich manager Paul Jewell made a goalkeeper his priority this summer, with Loach arriving at Portman Road for a fee believed to be in the region of £150,000 and £200,000.
New Watford boss Gianfranco Zola is now eyeing a move for Carlo Cudicini or Manuel Almunia as a replacement.
