Watford striker Troy Deeney has emerged as a reported transfer target of Newcastle United.
Manager Alan Pardew has made no secret of his desire to bolster his attacking options before the end of the transfer window, despite the fact that he recently captured the loan services of Loic Remy from Queens Park Rangers.
Having been foiled in the pursuit of a number of other options, he has now settled on 25-year-old Deeney, according to The People.
While the Hornets are keen to keep hold of the former Walsall frontman, it is believed that they would consider his departure if they received a big enough offer.
Deeney scored 20 goals for Gianfranco Zola's side last season and already has five to his name this time around.
