Watford are reportedly close to signing midfielder Roberto Pereyra from Juventus after the two clubs agreed a £13m deal.
The Hornets are said to be targeting a creative player and have picked out the Argentina international as the ideal man to come in.
According to Sky Sports News, Watford had a £7.8m offer turned down recently but have now returned with an improved bid that has proved more successful.
Watford's owners know the player well due to his time at feeder club Udinese, where he spent four years before departing last summer.
Pereyra made 16 appearances for Juventus in 2015-16, 13 of which came during the club's successful run to the Serie A title.
