Watford have reportedly moved a step closer to securing a deal for Udinese goalkeeper Rafael Romo.
The Hornets are currently without a senior reserve goalkeeper due to the two-game ban handed to Giedrius Arlauskis, and Quique Flores is believed to be keen to sign an experienced backup for Huerelho Gomes.
Udinese's Venezuelan shot-stopper Romo has emerged as a target, and the Daily Mail claims that Watford will capitalise on their partnership with the Serie A side by making the 25-year-old their latest signing.
Romo, who has been on loan at Mineros in his home country for the past three years, is expected to join on a short-term loan deal.
Watford start their season with a trip to Everton on Saturday.
