Watford have announced that they have signed Derby County midfielder Will Hughes on a long-term contract.
It had been reported that the two clubs had agreed on an £8m fee for the England Under-21 international, who has spent the last six seasons in the East Midlands.
Hughes is yet to complete a medical with the Hornets due to his participation at Under-21 Euro 2017 but should he come through that, he will pen a five-year deal at Vicarage Road.
During his time with the Rams, Hughes has scored a total of 12 goals from 189 appearances in all competition, while he has also won 22 caps for the Young Lions.
Despite the number of matches that Hughes has amassed in the first team, coach Kevin Phillips has suggested that the club are right to cash in on the 22-year-old after he failed to feature in the starting lineup on 18 occasions last season.
