Watford boss Giuseppe Sannino has expressed interest in signing free agent Massimo Ambrosini ahead of the new season.
The veteran midfielder spent last season at Fiorentina following an 18-year stint with AC Milan, but was not offered a new contract in Florence.
"Who wouldn't like to train him? He's one of the most serious Italian players, a really good professional," Sannino told Tuttomercatoweb.it when quizzed on his interest in Ambrosini.
Ambrosini has also been linked with a move to newly-promoted Serie A outfit Cesena, the club where he started his career.
