Watford have rebuffed Wigan Athletic's offer for defender Adrian Mariappa.
The 25-year-old defender has been linked with moves to Swansea City and Newcastle United.
North London outfit Arsenal are also reportedly interested in the defender. However, Roberto Martinez's club have made the first move with an offer.
It is unclear of the fee tabled by the Premier League side, but Watford have rejected their advances, according to Sky Sports News.
Reports have claimed that the Championship side are willing to accept up to £2m for the player.
