Watford have signed Venezuelan teenager Adalberto Penaranda on a four-and-a-half-year deal.
The 18-year-old, who was said to have courted the attention of Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur in recent months, has joined the Hornets from Granada.
However, rather than make an immediate switch to Vicarage Road, Penaranda will return to the Spanish club on a six-month deal and then link up with Quique Flores's squad in the summer.
Penaranda has scored four goals this season, including a double against Levante, which saw him break Lionel Messi's record as the youngest ever non-Spanish scorer of a brace in La Liga.
Earlier today Watford also announced the signing of Abdoulaye Doucoure, who like Penaranda will spend the remainder of the campaign with Granada.
