Watford will reportedly consider handing a Premier League lifeline to free agent Jack Rodwell following his release from League One-bound Sunderland.
The 27-year-old was not retained by the Black Cats at the end of the 2017-18 season following their second successive relegation.
Rodwell has already been linked with a number of clubs in Major League Soccer, as well as Greek Superleague side Aris Thessaloniki, Dutch outfit Vitesse Arnhem and Bolton Wanderers in the Championship.
According to Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio, however, Watford are tempted to acquire the free agent, despite being restricted to just two Championship appearances last season.
Rodwell, capped three times at senior level by England, had spent the past four years at Sunderland prior to his release.
