Watford's protracted move for Rennes winger Ismaila Sarr has reportedly broken down on deadline day.
The two clubs had been in negotiations for several weeks regarding a deal for the talented Senegal international, who scored 13 goals and created a further 11 in 50 games for the French side last season.
However, it is now believed that the two clubs' failure to agree a price has seen a move for the 21-year-old collapse.
Sky Sports News reports that Javi Gracia's side were unprepared to meet the £30m valuation Rennes stuck on Sarr, a fee which would have been a new club record for the Hornets.
With little time left in the transfer window for talks to continue, it now seems that the former Metz winger will be staying in France for the time being rather than making the switch to Hertfordshire.
