West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Clarke has insisted that the secret to unearthing hidden gems in the transfer market, is to find the right player for the right club.
Clarke was successful last summer, bringing in Claudio Yacob from Racing Santander and Romelu Lukaku on loan, both of whom impressed in the Premier League.
The Baggies boss claimed that some players fit clubs, while sometimes it does not work out.
"I don't think it is any more difficult than it was before," he told the club's official website. "The secret isn't looking in different places, the secret is finding the right player.
"Sometimes they're under your nose, and sometimes they are a little bit further away. By an large, with the boys we got in last season, we found the right players.
"Different players do well at different clubs. Some transfers work, some don't. Some players fit to a club and some don't - that's football."
Clarke led West Brom to their highest ever points total in the Premier League last season.
