West Bromwich Albion manager Roy Hodgson has revealed that the club could miss out on signing on-loan goalkeeper Ben Foster on a permanent deal at the end of the season.
Foster is on loan from Birmingham City until the end of the current campaign.
However, the 28-year-old's form for the Baggies could spark a bidding war between teams with more financial muscle.
"What worried [Birmingham] was him playing in the Championship. They wanted him retaining his value by playing in the Premier League," said Hodgson.
"He has not only retained his value, he might have added to it. If Birmingham do decide they want to see him it will be pretty much down to market forces.
"They will put a price on him and then they will have to see if there are any buyers at that price. I think he's got better and better, quite frankly."
