Nicolas Anelka could reportedly be offered a return to football by Standard Liege.
The former France international has been without a club since March when he was sacked by West Bromwich Albion following the fallout of his 'quenelle' celebration against West Ham United last December.
It had been speculated that the 35-year-old would retire from the sport, but Liege are prepared to hand Anelka the opportunity to restart his career, according to Sudpresse.
The Belgian club are thought to view Anelka as the ideal replacement for last season's leading goalscorer Michy Batshuayi, who recently joined French club Marseille.
