West Bromwich Albion head coach Steve Clarke has revealed that striker Shane Long will sign a new contract with the club.
The 26-year-old has previously been linked with a move away from The Hawthorns, but Clarke has revealed that Long and midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu will commit their futures to the club.
"It doesn't matter how long it takes," the Irish Examiner quotes Clarke as saying. "It just matters that you get the right resolution to suit both parties and that they are happy with the contract.
"We would like to think there will be a positive resolution with Shane and Youssouf. There's no panic, but it's nice to reward your players for their efforts during a season and to tie them down to a contract where they feel happy and comfortable. That is what we are trying to do."
Long signed for the Baggies from Reading in 2011.
