West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic has said that he wants his team to respond from a poor run in the Premier League when they welcome Accrington Stanley in the third round of the League Cup on Wednesday night.
The Hammers have lost four of their five league fixtures this season, with a total of three points leaving them in 18th position in the Premier League table.
Bilic has insisted that his players are aware of their responsibilities and is hopeful that Wednesday's clash with Accrington will bring a response ahead of their league match at home to Southampton this weekend.
"This game is a good opportunity for us and we don't have to travel. We have a good position. This is an interesting competition for us. We don't play again until Sunday and we will play a mixed team. We need some changes and some of the players deserve to get a chance," Bilic told reporters.
"We have had a couple of bad results after the international break. We have to act and very soon you can get out of the problem. Starting on Wednesday we have three mega games and three cup finals before the break. We have a good opportunity to come out of this.
"The boys know I am not happy. We spoke yesterday and we have to show a reaction straight away. We have to do it in games. We have some new players and a few have been injured. Some have come from different leagues but it is about time we gel together."
West Ham have conceded eight times in their last two Premier League defeats.
