Kevin Nolan claims that West Ham are eager to salvage some pride in tonight's League Cup semi-final second leg against Manchester City.

West Ham United captain Kevin Nolan has claimed that he and his teammates are eager to salvage some pride in tonight's League Cup semi-final second leg at home to Manchester City.

The Hammers were thrashed 6-0 two weeks ago as City all but secured their place in the final.

Nolan now hopes that West Ham can get a win in the return leg to build some confidence for the rest of their Premier League campaign.

"Tonight's game is the second leg of a semi-final after a disastrous first leg, but it is one we can go into full-throttle, have a good go and see if we can start building for a tough few months ahead," he told the club's official website.

"It would be nice to win tonight and start the ball rolling because too many teams have come to the Boleyn this season and got points that they shouldn't have."

Nolan is available for tonight's match after serving a three-match ban.
