Sam Allardyce has said that Alex Song has "outstanding quality" following his performance during West Ham United's win over Manchester City yesterday.
The London side beat the Premier League champions 2-1 at Upton Park, with the on-loan Barcelona midfielder helping set up goals for Diafra Sakho and Morgan Amalfitano.
The Hammers manager told reporters: "[Song has] been in the shadow of Sakho and [Enner] Valencia but this lad has outstanding quality. He prompts with his passing and his protection to the back players is excellent.
"Song led us as a team and the rest of the team followed. Sakho and Valencia, I don't think they know what they've done yet, I don't think they know how good they've been."
West Ham currently sit fourth in the Premier League table following a three-match winning run.
