Carlton Cole has said that scoring goals does not matter if West Ham United do not secure a win.
The striker put the Hammers ahead against Arsenal in their Boxing Day clash, but the Gunners went on to register a 3-1 victory.
The 30-year-old told the club's official website: "All I care about is winning. I don't look at those sort of stats I just want to win games.
"Whether I score or not it doesn't matter, I just want to win games. Today wasn't the day but the next time we go out on that field if I'm starting, I just want to win that game.
"Whether I'm starting or not I just want to contribute to us winning the game. At this level you need to put away the chances you get, even if it's a half chance. If you get the rub of the green and get that second goal that puts them to bed."
West Ham face West Bromwich Albion tomorrow.
