Mohamed Diame has insisted that West Ham United must continue to make improvements in front of goal if they are to achieve their targets this season.
The Hammers missed a number of good chances before losing on penalties to Sheffield United in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night, and Diame is hopeful that attacking coach Teddy Sheringham can continue to make an impact on their success.
"We just missed too many chances," the midfielder told members of the media. "We missed chances against Tottenham and didn't win the game, we took our chances against Crystal Palace and we won.
"We have to keep focused and keep going. We're doing great work with Teddy Sheringham in front of goal, so we have to keep working and try to score goals."
West Ham take on Southampton at Upton Park on Saturday afternoon.
