Sofiane Feghouli has revealed that West Ham United's "fighting spirit" convinced him to join the club from Valencia this summer.
The 26-year-old winger was linked with a switch to Inter Milan, but opted to move to the Hammers instead to play under manager Slaven Bilic.
Feghouli, who is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, has claimed that he has had a close eye on West Ham for a while.
"The London derbies were ones we had to watch," Feghouli told The Independent. "There was always an epic intensity to them. I was very impressed by West Ham's fighting spirit. They never gave up.
"All of that helped to convince me that they were the team to join at this stage of my career."
The Algeria international spent six years at Valencia before making a move to the Premier League.
