West Ham United chairman David Gold has described Aaron Cresswell's sending-off against Crystal Palace as "nonsense".
On his first game back from injury, Cresswell set up Manuel Lanzini's winning goal at Selhurst Park but he would not finish Saturday's game against the Eagles.
Despite contact appearing to be made, Cresswell was cautioned for simulation in the penalty area before less than a minute later, he received a second yellow card for his part in what appeared to be a 50-50 tussle with Wilfried Zaha.
The left-back now faces a one-match ban but Gold has taken to Twitter to criticise the decisions made by referee Martin Atkinson.
West Ham are next in action when they host Sunderland on October 22.
