James Tomkins has urged West Ham United teammate Winston Reid to snub outside interest and sign a contract extension in East London.
The New Zealand international impressed in this afternoon's 2-2 draw at Tottenham Hotspur, who have been linked with a summer move for the 26-year-old defender.
Reid is out of contract with the Hammers in June, and his centre-back partner Tomkins hopes to be playing alongside him again next season.
"Reidy is a good, down to earth guy and it is between him and the club," he told London24.com.
"I have spoken highly of him before and we all know what sort of player he is. We obviously want to keep him, but if the club can't do a deal then that is up to him."
Reid has made 23 Premier League appearances for United so far this season.
