Mark Noble has hailed West Ham United teammate Aaron Creswell for his match-winning performance in the 1-0 victory over in-form Newcastle United.
The 24-year-old left-back struck his first goal for the Hammers following a £2m summer move from Ipswich Town in this afternoon's narrow win at Upton Park.
The Magpies travelled to London on the back of a six-game winning streak, and Noble is delighted with Cresswell's contribution in the scalp.
"It is not an easy league to come into and we could see the quality he had as soon as he arrived from Ipswich in pre-season," he told BBC Sport.
"He has been fantastic this season. We did some shooting in training yesterday and we were saying he should score a few more goals and he's popped up with one today.
"Newcastle came here as the form side in the league and we knew it would be a 1-0 game - thankfully it went to us."
Sam Allardyce's side sit fifth in the Premier League table following the result, one point adrift of the top four.
