Razvan Rat has said that he hopes West Ham United can secure a place in Europe for the 2014-15 campaign.
The 32-year-old joined the Hammers on a free transfer earlier this summer following a 10-year spell with Shakhtar Donestsk.
The defender told Sky Sports News: "The Champions League is a great tournament, I think the Premier League is quite a similar level so it's not so big of a difference.
"But I hope West Ham will perform much better this year than the previous season and to get a good place to play in Europe."
Rat won the 2009 UEFA Cup with Shakhtar.
