Sam Allardyce has hailed West Ham United's "massive win" over Newcastle United in this afternoon's 1-0 victory Premier League at Upton Park.
Left-back Aaron Cresswell struck the only goal of the game to give the Hammers their first win in November - and end Newcastle's six-game winning streak in the process.
Allardyce is now hopeful that the result gives West Ham a timely confidence boost ahead of the hectic festive period.
"We have to say it was a fantastic finish from Aaron Cresswell," he told BBC Sport.
"It was fortuitous he got in that position. He's a full-back and carried on his run into the box. It was always going to be a 1-0.
"We get back on the winning trail going into December. Newcastle are an in-form side. It's massive win for us."
Allardyce's side sit fifth in the Premier League table following the result, one point adrift of the top four.
