Kalvin Phillips will make his full debut for West Ham United in tonight's Premier League clash against Bournemouth at the London Stadium after being named in David Moyes's starting lineup.

The England international has joined the Hammers on an initial loan deal from Manchester City, where he struggled to gain regular game time during a frustrating 18-month spell at the Etihad Stadium.

Moyes has opted to place Phillips straight into his West Ham XI, with the midfielder becoming the 996th player to make his competitive first-team debut for the club since they were reformed back in June 1900.

Phillips is one of four changes made to the Hammers side that drew 2-2 with Sheffield United two-and-a-half weeks ago, with Ben Johnson, Edson Alvarez and Mohammed Kudus also handed starts.

Johnson replaces the suspended Vladimir Coufal and joins captain Kurt Zouma, Konstantinos Mavropanos and Emerson Palmieri in the back four.

Phillips is set to link arms with Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse and Tomas Soucek in a four-man midfielder, with the latter presumably operating in an advanced role in behind attacking duo Jarrod Bowen and Kudus, who replaces Danny Ings.

Maxwel Cornet and Pablo Fornals are the other two names to make way from the first XI, with the former among the substitutes despite reported interest from Crystal Palace, while the latter is absent from the matchday squad as he closes in on a move to Real Betis.

As for Bournemouth Andoni Iraola has also made four changes to the lineup that began the 5-0 FA Cup victory over Swansea City last week, with goalkeeper Neto, right-back, Adam Smith, midfielder Marcus Tavernier and attacker Antoine Semenyo all returning to the side.

While Neto replaces Mark Travers between the sticks, Smith takes the place of youngster James Hill and joins Illia Zabarnyi, Marcos Senesi and Lloyd Kelly in the back four.

Lewis Cook, Alex Scott and Ryan Christie all retain their places in centre-midfield, while top scorer Dominic Solanke is joined in attack by Tavernier and Semenyo, who replace David Brooks – now on loan at Southampton – and Luis Sinisterra.

West Ham United: Areola; Johnson, Mavropanos, Zouma, Emerson; Alvarez, Phillips, Ward-Prowse; Soucek; Kudus, Bowen

Subs: Fabianski, Ogbonna, Ings, Cresswell, Cornet, Orford, Mubama, Casey, Scarles

Bournemouth: Neto; Smith, Zabarnyi, Senesi, Kelly; Scott, Cook, Christie; Tavernier, Solanke, Semeyno

Subs: Travers, Mepham, Kinsey, Kerkez, Kilkenny, Faivre, Billing, Kluivert, Sinisterra body check tags ::
