Roma midfielder Adem Ljajic has reportedly rejected the chance to join West Ham United after the Premier League side had a bid accepted for the Serbian international.
Ljajic has been linked with a move to Aston Villa in recent days but Sky Italia report that the Hammers have made a formal approach to sign the 23-year-old.
The report claims that Slaven Bilic's side's offer of a £2m fee to take the midfielder on loan for the season with a permanent purchase option of £6m was accepted by the Serie A club, but that Ljajic himself has rejected the move.
It is thought that the player turned down the move as he was not convinced by the destination, although he is still expected to leave the Giallorossi before the transfer window closes on Tuesday.
Roma paid Fiorentina a fee of €11m (£8m) for Ljajic in 2013, and the midfielder has two years left on his current contract.
