West Ham United have reportedly been given the opportunity to re-sign Dimitri Payet from Marseille.
In January 2017, Payet took it upon himself to force through an exit from the London Stadium in order to return to Marseille, whom he had left in the summer of 2015.
The playmaker's conduct and exit was widely criticised by supporters, despite the France international becoming a fan-favourite having scored 11 goals in 48 Premier League appearances.
Payet has enjoyed an excellent spell with Marseille over the past 18 months but according to The Guardian, it appears that the attacker could complete a shocking return to East London.
Marseille allegedly need to raise funds this summer and it has resulted in the player being offered to West Ham, with Manuel Pellegrini said to be consulting club officials and members of his first-team squad.
West Ham sold Payet for £25m, but it remains to be seen whether the club would have to pay a similar fee in order to secure a reunion with the 31-year-old.
