AC Milan striker Alessandro Matri has reportedly agreed to join West Ham United on loan.
The Hammers have been chasing a new forward for most of this month as they look to boost their attack while Enner Valencia recovers from injury and Andy Carroll works his way back to fitness.
It was rumoured that they were close to signing Simone Zaza from Juventus before the Serie A champions pulled out of the deal after deciding to sell Fernando Llorente to Sevilla.
However, Sky Italia claims that Matri will secure a move to Upton Park on Friday after being convinced to make the switch by Milan CEO Adriano Galliani.
Matri spent time on loan at Genoa and Juventus last season.
