Newcastle United midfielder Jonjo Shelvey has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for West Ham United.
In recent weeks, Hammers boss David Moyes has been linked with a number of central midfielders as he looks to strengthen his squad during the January window.
Sporting Lisbon's William Carvalho, Bournemouth's Harry Arter and Stoke City's Joe Allen are all said to be on Moyes's radar but according to The Mirror, Shelvey has also been identified as a possible addition.
The 25-year-old has endured a mixed campaign, with several influential performances coming between enforced spells on the sidelines due to two dismissals.
The England international has also spent time on the bench, leading to Moyes being tempted into trying to bring Shelvey back to London, where he started his career with Charlton Athletic.
The report claims that the playmaker could be available for £12m.
