West Ham United are reportedly weighing up a move for Shakhtar Donetsk defender Razvan Rat.
The Romania captain is out of contract with the Ukrainian club in the summer and would therefore be allowed to leave for free in six months' time.
Shakhtar are unlikely to agree fresh terms with the left-back, and are keen on securing a fee for the player before his current deal expires.
Despite recruiting Emanuel Pogatetz on loan until the end of the current campaign earlier this week, manager Sam Allardyce is keen on adding Rat to his squad, amid interest from several other Premier League clubs.
The 31-year-old has won multiple titles with Shakhtar, including the 2009 UEFA Cup.
