West Ham United have announced that Diego Poyet's contract has been terminated by mutual consent.
The 21-year-old, who is the son of Real Betis head coach Gus Poyet, has spent the last two years with the Hammers following a move from Charlton Athletic.
The midfielder struggled to break into the first team, though, as he made 10 appearances in all competitions for the London club.
"I have enjoyed my two seasons with West Ham and would like to thank the club for giving me the opportunity to fulfil a dream of playing in the Premier League," Poyet told the club's official website.
"However, following discussions, it was agreed that we would mutually terminate my contract to enable me to continue my development elsewhere."
Poyet had loan spells at Huddersfield Town, MK Dons and Charlton during his time at West Ham.
