West Ham United are reportedly struggling to reach an agreement over a new contract with Jeremy Ngakia.
Having made four starts in the Premier League since the turn of the year, the 19-year-old and his representatives have been in discussions with club officials regarding a long-term deal.
However, according to the Evening Standard, little progress has been made in negotiations, putting the youngster in a position where he could choose to leave on a free transfer.
While the prospect may benefit from more first-team football over the next two months, it remains unclear whether he is prepared to at least pen a short-term contract for the rest of the season.
For that to occur, West Ham would need to find a positive resolution with Ngakia before June 23, or face watching the player depart the club a week later.
