West Ham United are reportedly keen to open talks with midfielder Tomas Soucek over a new contract, with his current deal set to expire in June 2024.

West Ham United are reportedly keen to open talks with midfielder Tomas Soucek over a new contract.

The 26-year-old Czech Republic international has been a crucial cog in David Moyes's machine since joining the club from Slavia Prague just over two years ago.

Soucek will see his current contract at the London Stadium expire in June 2024; however, Football Insider reports that the Hammers would like to tie the midfielder down to a new and improved deal.

The report adds that West Ham are prepared to offer Soucek a significant pay rise as they attempt to fend off potential interest from Premier League rivals and other clubs abroad.

Soucek initially joined the Hammers on loan in January 2020, before his temporary deal was made permanent the following summer for around £15m.

The 6ft 4in box-to-box midfielder has made a total of 85 appearances for West Ham across all competitions, scoring 16 goals and providing two assists. body check tags ::
